About the Role:
This innovative charter school in Brooklyn is seeking a passionate Middle School Technology Teacher to join their team for the 2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to engage students in hands-on, project-based learning that builds digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and technological proficiency. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity and creativity while preparing students for the digital world.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement an engaging technology curriculum covering topics such as coding, robotics, digital citizenship, multimedia production, and computational thinking.

Teach students how to use various digital tools, software programs, and emerging technologies.

Design hands-on, project-based learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.

Integrate technology into interdisciplinary projects and collaborate with colleagues to enhance learning across subjects.

Promote responsible technology use and digital citizenship among students.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and skill levels of students.

Stay updated on emerging educational technologies and best practices in STEM education.

Manage and maintain classroom technology, including hardware and software.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (middle school preferred).
Skills:

Strong knowledge of coding languages (such as Python, JavaScript, or Scratch) and robotics.

Experience with educational technology tools, such as Google Workspace, learning management systems (LMS), and multimedia design software.

Ability to teach digital literacy, cybersecurity, and responsible internet use.

Excellent classroom management and student engagement strategies.

Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, parents, and staff.

Passion for integrating technology into education to enhance student learning.

Additional qualifications include:
