About the Role:
A high-performing public charter school in Memphis, part of a nationally recognized network, is seeking two Special Education (SPED) Teacher (One middle school & one high school) for the 2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator dedicated to equity and inclusion to make a meaningful impact on students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, supportive, and structured learning environment while ensuring students receive the individualized support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with student needs and educational goals.
Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional strategies to support students with diverse learning styles.
Provide targeted interventions in small-group and one-on-one settings.
Utilize data-driven instruction to track student progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure student success.
Maintain compliance with special education laws, policies, and documentation requirements.
Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence.
Advocate for students by working closely with school leadership, therapists, and support staff.
Participate in professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working with students with special needs.
Certification: Must hold or be eligible for a state-recognized Special Education teaching license.
Skills:
Strong belief in the school’s mission and commitment to inclusive education.
Knowledge of IEP development, accommodations, and behavioral strategies.
Experience using data-driven instruction to drive student achievement.
Excellent collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.

Additional qualifications include:
A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field.
Teaching credentials in your home country for primary or secondary education.
At least two years of full-time teaching experience or equivalent qualifications.
