About the Role
A high-performing public charter school, part of a nationally recognized network, is seeking a passionate AP English Teacher for the 2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator dedicated to fostering critical thinking, academic excellence, and a love for literature and writing.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and capable of supporting Spanish-speaking students in their academic journey. They will cultivate an engaging and rigorous learning environment that challenges students while preparing them for college-level coursework.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement challenging, standards-aligned AP English curriculum that develops advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Foster a structured and inclusive classroom where students feel supported in their academic growth.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring all students are prepared for AP success.
Utilize data-driven instruction to monitor student progress and refine teaching strategies.
Provide language support and scaffolding for Spanish-speaking students to ensure their academic success.
Build strong relationships with students and families, particularly within the Spanish-speaking community.
Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to continuously improve curriculum and instructional practices.
Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of educational excellence.
Requirements
π Education: Bachelorβs degree in English, Education, or a related field (Masterβs degree preferred).
π Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. AP teaching experience is a plus.
π Skills & Qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) is required.
Strong belief in educational equity and student potential.
Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a rigorous yet engaging learning environment.
Experience preparing students for AP exams and using data to drive instruction.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
